Default Armor

My ritualist is wearing +45 armor. My plan was to buy +60 standard armor and then save for elite, but the price of +60 rit standard armor is really high (I don't remember it costing me that much to put my Nec and Ranger in +60 pieces).

So I'm thinking I'll just continue on in +45... I should have enough for elite by the time I finish Factions. My question is, since top standard armor and elite are both +60... is there an advantage to elite that I'm not seeing ? Thanks.

Nope, Elite armour is just for looks, but you can display an Elite armour set in your Hall of Monuments, which you cannot do with a standard armour set.

Does not compute.

Ink and whatever other mats for Rit armor has always been high, and now it'll be particularly expensive because alot of people are gobbling up those mats to get their lux/kurz armor monuments.

Whatever the logic is, it'll cost you 15x more to buy elite armor than standard armor. If a normal suit is too expensive for you, chances are you won't be able to gather what you need for elite any time soon.

Whatever the reasoning is, you'll be taking 30% more damage while waiting for upgrading to elite, make sure you're prepared for that if you're waiting it out.

I didn't say +60 standard armor was too expensive, I have the gold for it now... but the point was that standard +60 armor will take a huge bite out of it and I'll be awhile getting the funds back to buy elite later. I put two others thru prophesies, which is where most of my gold comes from and now my rit is adding to the pot. Both my Ranger and Nec are in +60... I think their armor was cheaper. I figured the cost of +60 rit and it was quite a bit. So, I guess now I just have to decide which I like the looks of better, and like you say, decide if I'm willing to get to the end of factions with +45..... mostly I was just asking if their was something special about elite that made it worth buying. I guess the answer is aesthetics.

Once you hit max armor for any profession, everything is about looks. It's the main gold sink in the game. We all want just one more set for our favorite characters.

As noted above elite armors may be added to your hall of monuments; so that may also be a consideration to you.

If your strapped for cash at moment then collect the mats for ...the collectors armour there quite easily obtained

Look on wiki under armour then at bottom you will see ..collectors..click that and go out and collect the mats required

its 60 although the headpeice you cannot add runes just buy one to get stats higher

that will suffice till you feel like spending
